SurvCADD

SurvCADD is the flagship product of Carlson Software. SurvCADD is sold in modules that, taken together, cover virtually all aspects of surveying and site-based civil engineering. SurvCADD has evolved in tandem with the evolution of AutoCAD, and has grown to become one of the premier 3rd party add-on products in the AEC marketplace. SurvCADD 2006, the most recent release, is optimized to work with the following AutoDesk products:

General Commands

Toolbars - Toolbar icons for common commands such as List Points, Join Nearest and 3D Viewer Window.
Date Format - Option to choose date format for reports (ie. Jan 1, 2003 verses 1/2/03).
Reports - Option to use Notepad instead of the standard SurvCADD report viewer.
Report Formatter - Multiple fields can be selected at a time for assigning to the report list and the fields are added in place on the report list after the highlighted position on the report list.
Display Last Report - Brings up the last report generated by any SurvCADD command that uses the standard report viewer.
Load Saved Report - Brings up the Report Formatter for the report data file saved previously by the Report Formatter.
Edit Points - Search-Replace has an option to process within a point range. Added an explicit Insert Row to the Edit menu.
Text Explode To Polylines - The option to substitute a simple font to use for the polylines.
Write Polyline File - An option to reduce polyline vertices.
Twist Screen - An option to select a text entity to get the angle for the screen alignment.


Drawing Inspector - For polyline segments, reports end point elevations, horizontal distance, slope distance and slope.
3D Viewer Window - Controls for the light intensity for the direction and ambient light. For viewing block models, added rendering method options and the ability to turn off entities by color. Will use the same background color as set in the AutoCAD graphic window.
Lisp Interface - A LSP interface in the SurvCADD point database to allow users to write their own routines that work with SurvCADD points.
Point Database - Support for using CG and LDD point files. For Carlson CRD files, the ability to have a coordinate of 0,0,0.
File Selection Dialog - Dialog which speeds up selection of files recently used or coming from the recent folder. Eliminates the need for older New/Existing selection.
Coordinate Order - The option whether coordinates are reported in northing-easting or easting-northing order.
Localization Features - An ability to maintain two different sets of defaults (british and metric) has been added, so that user can maintain a comfortable set of settings for either unit system, especially if he constantly switches back and forth. Support for meters/metres, tons/tonnes and various date representation.
